Downey Home Hardware Building Centre is located in the Town of Riverview, New Brunswick. Opening the doors in January of 2006, Downey Home Hardware Building Centre is not only one of the newest Home Hardware’s in Canada, but is unique in the fact we are a marriage of two highly professional and competitive hardware businesses.
For years the Downey family operated a successful Building Centre in the small community of Hillsborough, New Brunswick. It had been a dream for years to open a hardware store in the much larger community of Riverview, about 20 minutes away. Plans were in place, the building, under construction and then the opportunity to purchase the Home Hardware franchise for Riverview became available.
It was decided that the Downey family would continue to build their beautiful new store, but it would now go under the Home Hardware Building Centre banner. Retaining the staff from the original Home Hardware, with their knowledge of hardware, seasonal, plumbing, housewares and paint, combining it with the lumber, construction, and building supply knowledge already in place, management feels they have put together a team of professionals second to none.
